Choir during Covid

Singing in Peter’s garden with more than 6 people! What a lovely afternoon.

No squirrels – just a lot of singing! Not really my idea of fun.

Christmas Zoom 14th December

It was great to get together with members of the choir at a virtual Christmas singalong on Zoom. Caroline and Nick led some songs from our repertoire and Sarah and Simon led a Kristmas Karaoke session.

The winner of the dressing up competition went to Andrea in her rather scary reindeer mask. (see her in the slide show below).

Singing Walks

Getting ready to sing on Middle Hill, Warminster.

Well it has just been rather too much of a logistical nightmare to get back to singing indoors as a choir at Bethesda or the Town Hall since the end of the last lockdown – so, members of the choir organised four local walks for six in our muddy countryside and Caroline led singing from our repertoire at various beautiful stopping points on the walk.

Treasure

Thank you to Marc Olyott for combining our individual home recordings to produce a lovely recording of Caroline’s beautiful arrangement of Treasure, the theme tune to the series the Detectorists.

Sessions of six

Well we managed to get together in groups of six to sing outside at the Silk Mills in Frome in the summer and into September. Caroline arranged some great songs in three parts and it was lovely to see other members of the choir again and sing together. It was also a good challenge to sing in a small group and to have to switch parts from week to week – very good for the brain cells. We even managed to have a couple of small group sessions at Bethesda in October before the second lockdown kicked in.

Here are some photos of our charity Zoom session in May.

In June we raised £305 for Evie’s Gift

In May we raised £350

We currently have spaces for new singers in all harmony parts. Always wanted to sing? Fancy joining a choir? Why not come along and meet us for an informal try out singing session.

Have a look through the website to see what we get up to. We are a friendly group of people who just love singing together and would love to welcome some new members to the choir once we get back to some sort of normality and can meet in the same room again.

Have a look at the video below and follow the link for more of Caroline’s YouTube videos. Below that you will find a recording of our choir which has been done during lockdown using the video lessons.

If you are interested in joining us please get in touch through our contact page.

Curly Headed Baby – Virtual choir performance

A big thank you to Marc Olyott who has created a virtual SIO choir for us. We are all missing getting together and singing so this is the next best thing.

Each choir member learnt one of the 3 parts from Caroline’s video recorded it on their phone and sent it to Marc for mixing and production.
